What is Vedic Meditation
Vedic Meditation is an ancient technique originating in the Himalayas that is relevant for modern living and working. Scientifically proven to release accumulated stress, Vedic Meditation is simple and natural, yet profoundly transformative. It is practised sitting easily with the back supported and the eyes closed for twenty minutes twice a day. With the use of a personalised mantra or sound, the mind of the Vedic Meditator is effortlessly drawn to a place of silence where thinking is transcended. This place of infinite silence provides the body with rest that is from 2 to 5 times deeper than sleep. This state of deep rest removes accumulated stress. With each session we increase our mental potential and experience greater happiness. These qualities enable the Vedic meditator to engage in activity with maximum efficiency and to bring progressive change in one’s areas of life that have been stagnant for too long.

The Origins
The meditation technique that Dr Corinna Galliano is trained to teach is Vedic Meditation as taught by Thom Knoles.
Vedic means from the Veda. The Veda is the ancient and comprehensive body of knowledge that comes from India and is dated 5000 years old. It is not a religion and it is not associated with any religious beliefs, in fact predates all religions. Among other disciplines, yoga, meditation and Ayurveda come from the Veda.
Thom was trained as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation (“TM”) by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (“Maharishi”) and taught it for over 25 years with organisations affiliated with Maharishi. Since 1997, Thom has continued to teach this meditation as he learned it from Maharishi, and has done so independently and separately from the TM organisations, using the term “Vedic Meditation".
Thom Knoles trained Corinna to teach meditation as Thom was trained to teach meditation by Maharishi. Corinna teaches Vedic Meditation independently and separately from TM organisations and is not affiliated with those organisations.
