Rounding is part of the ancient Vedic tradition, and it has been designed to deepen your meditation experience.
A “round” is a short sequence of yoga postures and a soothing breathing technique that prepares us for a more restful meditation.
When you add these two simple components before sitting for meditation, you can experience a more grounded and profound meditation experience and remove deeper stress levels from your physiology.
This technique is excellent for meditators who feel their schedules/days are non-stop and want to pause, reset, and reboot their nervous systems. Rounding is a technique I encourage every Vedic Meditator to learn.
How does a full round look like
A full round takes approximately 50 minutes:
10-15 minutes of gentle asanas, or stretches that anyone could do (no prior experience required)
5 minute of pranayama breathing
20 minutes of Vedic meditation
5-10 minutes lying down
